After three eponymous exhibitions at La Halle Saint Pierre, having gathered together more than 200,000 visitors, and after Tatoueurs, Tatoués attracted 700,000 visitors to the Musée du quai Branly (Paris), over the years, HEY! has become a magazine of worldwide prescriptive art and the field of contemporary figurative art. Today HEY! brings together a broad network of international artists and explores "alternative pop culture". The artistic categories that have shaped Western academic tradition, its esthetics, and iconography are today at the heart of a bustling mutation, and today's art is full of its heritage. Movements (lowbrow, pop surrealism, etc.) and worlds (tattoos, comics, rock posters, etc.) have long been considered as too anchored and representative of an underground culture, over-fed on pop(ular) references. However, today, the artists supported by HEY! are presenting significant works and actions as part of the landscape of contemporary art. They are forming tomorrow's mainstream.
In issue 30: Hugues Picherit, Karl Beaudelere-KXB7, Kevin Sloan, Thierry Lancelot, Madeline Von Foerster, Ray Caesar, Mukuss, and many others!
Discover a collection of graphic novels and books inspired by contemporary pop universes, with a clear focus on urban culture.
