With the Sorcerer-Knights' victory against the Inquisition, the Kingdom of Cyfandir has become a home for all the infected, where they are free and equal. The orphaned "wooded ones", those lost children of Caillte Forest, are now automatically placed under the tutelage of the Sorcerer-Knights. But that isn't what Aquill wants – the young boy fears that his uncontrollable infection will become a danger to everyone.

One night, while desperately waiting for his litter sister to come back – who is lost in Caillte Forest because of him – he comes across a group of artifact looters, and during the ensuing fight, he finds out he can control a sacred suit of armor of Cyfandir!
